Cycle kit has got to be right - so we wanted to get our new short sleeve jersey in the hands of a man that not only knows his kit - but also knows how to ride.... and Team Huckson's Phil Mant ticks both those boxes. Also takes a decent photo - go check out his Instagram...
Anyway, we asked Phil to take our new jersey and bib shorts for a spin and let us know what he thought. Over to Phil.

'I was lucky to get my hands on the Huckson cycling bib and jersey to test out for my Ride London 100. Despite the wet weather, which meant I couldn’t fully showcase how great the kit looks underneath a rain jacket, it held up perfectly for the 100 miles. Here’s a breakdown of my experience: Looks The Huckson cycling bib and jersey are sleek and stylish. The design is subtle with lovely detail in the stitching, and the midnight blue is fabulous. Although the rain jacket hid the kit for most of the ride, it was nice to get out in the sunshine for a mini shoot

Fit:
The fit of both the bib and jersey is exceptional. The bib offers a snug yet flexible fit, providing excellent support without any restriction. The medium men’s size fits me perfectly at 5’10”, based on the size charts on the website. The jersey fits aerodynamically but not too tight, ensuring comfort over long distances. The material adapts well to body movements, making the whole outfit feel like a second skin. Comfort Comfort is where this kit truly shines. The chamois in the bib provides fantastic cushioning, preventing any discomfort or chafing during long rides. The jersey is made from a breathable, moisture-wicking fabric that kept me cool and dry, even during the more intense segments of the ride.
Performance:
In terms of performance, the Huckson kit is top-notch. Despite the wet conditions, the material held up well, maintaining its shape and comfort throughout the entire 100-mile ride. The jersey’s three rear pockets were incredibly handy for storing my rain jacket, phone, and other ride essentials with easy access. A nice touch is the mini zip compartment for my car key
. Durability Even after enduring wet and challenging conditions, the Huckson bib and jersey showed no signs of wear and tear. The stitching and fabric quality are impressive, promising a long-lasting addition to any cyclist’s wardrobe.
Overall:
Overall, the Huckson cycling bib and jersey are outstanding. They combine great looks with a superb fit, exceptional comfort, and reliable performance. Despite the weather challenges during Ride London 100, this kit proved its worth, and I highly recommend it to both casual and serious cyclists alike. 10/10'
